Abi Gilchrist - Kent Soul Choirs

Enjoy an informal, fun, singing workshop. You’ll be guided through some basic warm ups to give you a glimpse of what your voice can do and learn a simple arrangement of a well known song. All voices and ages welcome and no singing experience needed and we know you will leave on a high!.

The workshop will be based around the kind of activities and learning that the Kent Soul Choirs in Whitstable do weekly. Singing in a group has been scientifically proven as one of the most beneficial hobbies for well being and mental health.  Singing is physically so good for your body. It  opens your lungs and your whole body and is a gentle and very effective workout for all ages and all abilities.  Singing also creates oxytocin in the body  - the ‘feel good’ hormone which has been found to alleviate stress and anxiety. No matter how ‘good’ you are, singing in a group is elating and that releases endorphins which are associated with feelings of pleasure.
